LS Swap Project Updates

Here's a 1.5-month-ish update on the project budget LS swap! I haven't had a ton of time to work on things lately with work travel and house projects, but I did manage to squeeze in a couple of hours. Apologies for the long combined post! Pic 1: Checking the clearance for the upper radiator hose to the fan and intake tube using the hybrid water pump combo. Pic 2: The hybrid pump is made from an LS1 forward output pump with a truck pulley swapped on to keep the clutch fan threads. Pic 3: I cut a groove with a grinder in the LS1 water pump pulley to use a power steering pulley puller. Pic 4: I made a puller tool using some cut-off clutch fan threads with a nut welded to it for a bolt to thread through and pull the truck water pump pulley off. Pic 5: Comparing the stock Gen 3 LS fan clutch to the longer 2005 4-cylinder fan clutch I switched to for a better shroud fit and radiator hose clearance. Pic 6: I switched to a lower profile oil pan because the truck pan hung below the chassis. I'd like to keep everything above the chassis where possible for protection. Pic 7: I bought a used, low-mileage 2015 Silverado 6.0 power steering pump so I'd have a hydroboost-style dual return reservoir and the taller neck for easy filling. The stock high-pressure Humvee hose hooked right up! Pic 8: I'm using a Gen 3 intake we had lying around and had to shave some tabs off the top and relocate the MAP sensor to clear the body. Pic 9: I wasn't quite ready for seats, but I couldn't pass up these Denali heated leather middle-row captain's chairs that were on Marketplace for an amazing deal. Some other key components just arrived, so I'm hoping to have more updates for you soon!
