Revisiting Australia: In Search of Old Memories

This trip has a purpose, and it's also to ease my longing.
When I was studying, there was a restaurant downstairs from my CBD apartment building that was very expensive for me at the time. Every day when I left and came home, I'd secretly check if the lobsters in the restaurant's fish tank had been slaughtered, and I'd envy the posh-looking rich people who'd book out the place for parties every few days. I thought to myself back then, when I'm capable, I'll come and eat here once!
But now, those dishes I once thought were high-end are gone. At lunchtime, there are only two or three tables of people ordering basic Italian meals. Xiao Wei originally wanted to accompany me to eat to make up for my regret, but it's a good thing he didn't come along. I told Nancy that walking through the entire CBD felt both familiar and strange, very special. He told me not to be afraid, to accomplish the things I wanted to do one by one, and not to have any regrets.
Wei Zhi said that when I go to Australia, it's like going back to my mother's home, but I never thought that the only thing that made me feel a bit different was this village everyone calls my mother's home. People say revisiting old places is to reconnect with your past self, but when I thought I had become stronger and was ready to meet those people and things, everything had changed.
Although I don't regret going home when I had no choice, I deeply regret not returning to Australia at the best time later on.
My friends, please remember that you can have a clear-headed love-struck brain, but you absolutely cannot let a love-struck brain mess things up 😂
Everything is still wonderful. I still want to accumulate more beautiful memories in what I call my second home, so that when I'm old, I won't have any lingering regrets.
