Sakurajima Volcanic Water Tasting Notes

Exploring flavours from the volcanic heart of Japan 🌋💧
This hot spring water from Sakurajima carries the character of the region that's soft, smooth, and mineral balanced through layers of volcanic rock and ash.
As a water sommelier, I always find it fascinating how terroir exists not only in coffee and wine, but also in water. Different mineral structures completely change texture, sweetness, mouthfeel, and flavour perception.
Water has a vintage, a story, and reflects the local cuisine and foods prepared with it.
This one is incredibly gentle with a clean finish and subtle sweetness. The extremely low minerality gives it a soft and delicate profile, perfect for appreciating on its own or pairing with delicate foods.
Japan continues to surprise me with the depth of its water culture. 🇯🇵
Water is not just water.
