What a journey it's been – and it continues! When my visa was up in NZ, there were three people that made me want to stay. One of them was [Name]. He was one of the first people who told me I could taste (though he probably says it to everyone, haha!) and made me want to do cup taster and supported me for Q's. I was originally going to compete this year but things happened... and when he asked me to help his last run at it, I thought... yeah, let's do this. Looking back, it's kind of amazing how things work out. Even leading up to his win, it felt like lots of things were falling into place – including everything going wrong and having to push through it. (Love the photo of trying to measure the machine height with [Name]'s phone!) Learned a lot from him through the years and was happy to have the opportunity to support back. Also wanted to say a massive thanks to [Name] – learned heaps from him throughout the competition process. I couldn't find any photos of all three of us – except that brewers workshop we were at! And also thanks to [Name] – best flowers I've ever gotten. Not to mention the entire Welly crew! (Probably more, apologies if I missed anyone.) And of course, the crew for looking after the cafe so I could focus on this.
