London Honeymoon Map

Our second honeymoon city, London. Before the trip, we'd assigned our roles. My husband was in charge of the UK, and I was to plan the rest. My husband, a massive football fan, wanted to see two matches live: a Premier League and a Champions League game. As an avid Chelsea supporter, he was thrilled to see a Chelsea vs. Tottenham match scheduled. To see Chelsea and Son Heung-min at the same time! When we booked the tickets, Son Heung-min hadn't transferred yet, so I was excited too. But about two months later, Son Heung-min left for LA... I quickly started studying the Chelsea players. It was an £800 match, and I thought it wouldn't be fun if I didn't recognise anyone. While diligently memorising player names one by one, I received the tickets and found we were in the Tottenham cheering section. So, I quickly started memorising Tottenham players instead. At this point, it was a football study trip. 🙄 The match was a let-down. Tottenham's play was frustrating, and I'd hoped to at least see Berjvall's face, but he was injured and left the pitch after just 3 minutes. Fortunately, the stadium tour was quite enjoyable. Still, it was lovely to see my husband's childlike grin every time he ticked off an item on his UK bucket list. I felt a surge of pride myself. If my husband found solace in football, I found my own happiness in London. I booked tickets for the musical Wicked. Cats is still the best musical of my life, but Wicked came very close to threatening its position. The stage direction, lighting, actors' performances, and music – everything was flawlessly perfect. I also visited Portobello Market, the setting for my favourite film, Notting Hill. It wasn't as romantic as in the film, but the atmosphere of the street felt strangely real.
