June Review: Backyard Japanese Maple
Published: 4 September 2026Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia: 4 likes
Over the past six months,
I've found myself getting too close to coffee, so close it's a bit blurry, making proper communication difficult. In Australia's more laid-back culture, people and things become like erasers, with a high tolerance for error. While this is good, it also makes serious people seem out of place, and life hasn't become any easier or more comfortable as a result. Gradually, I forgot to appreciate beauty, forgot to progress, and forgot to think. Looking back at June, there isn't a single photo worth documenting.
P.S. Evergreen plants, much like tech products, are direct and convenient, but they lack variety and surprise. The withered branches and yellow leaves of the Japanese maple in the back garden are still beautiful.
