My First Marathon Journey

Running a marathon has always been on my list, but I never had the courage to go for it as I haven't been running or racing since MCO year. When I found out my partner and a few of his running mates were training for one, I figured maybe it was time to give it a shot. So, I jumped into months of training leading up to race day. On race day, though anxious, my partner kept reminding me to just trust the process and make sure to enjoy the journey. The weather was perfect and so was the energy from the crowd. I kept a steady zone 2 pace and kept track of when to fuel up, so no hunger, no bonking, and no cramps (super relieved!), just some sore muscles kicking in towards the 37-38KM mark. I kept repeating to myself, lift the ankle, lift the ankle, keep running, you've covered xxKM, good job! I have to admit, crossing the finishing line was such a rewarding moment, especially being able to share it with the running buddies who’ve been training with me since day one. Thank you chaps! And to my ever supportive partner and personal run coach for the past few months, you're more than awesome! Looking forward to more race-cations together!
